Justin Lam, a proud San Francisco native, has made waves in the world of volleyball throughout his illustrious career. From his humble beginnings on the first-ever Slainte team to his current reign as a 9-man champion, Lam’s journey has been nothing short of remarkable.
Lam’s talent and dedication quickly became evident during his high school years at Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory. In 2006, he earned the esteemed title of First-Team All-West Catholic Athletic League (WCAL), showcasing his exceptional skills and undeniable potential. Lam’s outstanding performance that year didn’t go unnoticed, as he was also honored as the Central Coast Section (CCS) Player of the Year, solidifying his status as a rising star in the volleyball community.
Continuing his journey at the collegiate level, Lam took his game to new heights at the University of California, Santa Cruz. He earned First-Team All-American his senior year, highlighting his impact as one of the nation’s top players. Lam’s time at UC Santa Cruz further honed his skills, preparing him for the challenges that awaited him beyond the college realm.
Fast forward to the present, Justin has found tremendous success in the 9-man volleyball scene. With an impressive record of seven championships under his belt, he has established himself as a force to be reckoned with in the sport. His ability to lead, strategize, and deliver clutch performances has made him a respected figure both on and off the court.
As if his on-court achievements weren’t enough, Lam’s passion for the sport extends beyond his own success. Recognizing the importance of nurturing and developing future volleyball talents, he has recently taken on a new role as the Director of Coach Development. With his wealth of experience and deep understanding of the game, Lam is poised to guide aspiring coaches and players, shaping the next generation of volleyball stars.
