Barre Fong is a fourth generation San Franciscan. He was educated at the University of San Francisco and lives in the heart of the City with is wife and two adult children. He is a life-long volleyball lover and has previously coached for Slainte.

Barre is an experienced non-profit fundraiser and is currently serving on the Board of the Friends of the San Francisco Public Library where he is spearheading an effort to raise $1,500,o00 to support the library’s Chinatown Branch Renovation. Further, he has served as a Trustee at Katherine Delmar Burke School, Lick-Wilmerding High School and as the President of the Board of Directors for the Chinese Historical Society of America.

Since 2013, Barre has led Diversity in Governance, a group that champions diversity, inclusion and equity in independent schools and other non-profit organizations. The group has worked with more than 1.500 trustees nationwide
